The Golden Peak Base Camp Trek leads you to the foot of Spantik (7,027m), one of the most beautiful mountains in the Karakoram. Famous for its golden glow at sunrise and sunset, this trek passes through glaciers, alpine camps, and dramatic mountain scenery on the border of Nagar and Baltistan.

Overview

The Golden Peak Base Camp Trek is a classic Karakoram adventure to Spantik, also known as the “Golden Peak” due to its glowing color during sunrise and sunset. Starting from Islamabad and entering the mountains via Gilgit and Hoper Valley, the trek follows a remote route through Biricho Kor, Chokotans, Girgindil, and Malengshi before reaching Golden Peak Base Camp.

Along the way, trekkers experience vast glaciers such as Sumayar Bar and Miar, with breathtaking views of Malubiting Peak (7,458m) and Chokotan Peak (6,100m). After completing the trek, the journey continues with cultural exploration in Hunza, including forts, lakes, and scenic viewpoints before returning to Islamabad.
